When to use - When escalating and/or reaching out to peers for an important decision, follow the following

Before you reach-out

Make sure that you have read the summary given in the next section

Prepare a pre-read with

• What is the overview of the situation?
• What is the decision expected?
• Is a decision really necessary? Why?
• What are the boundary conditions for this decision?
• What are the options that we have?
  • Have you encouraged some disagreements to create other good quality options?
• What is your recommendation?
• What is the help you need from others?

Before the final decision

• Do you understand the decision you are taking?
• Is there any uneasiness? Why?

After the decision, ensure

• Who needs to know? How to tell them?
• What is the action required? Who is responsible? When will it be done?
